Simon Didn’t Say

First the federal government hired Ernesto Pulido to trim trees that herons were nesting in so the birds would stop unloading guano all over the mail trucks at an Oakland, Calif., post office. Then the federal government — a different agency of it — investigated whether the tree trimmer had violated federal law by moving the nest of a protected species. “It is a violation to disturb active nests,” said a Fish and Wildlife spokesman, but the displaced birds are expected to recover. A Congressman intervened, and the agency decided not to press charges. (AC/Los Angeles Times) ...They probably wouldn’t have charged the Postal Service anyway.
