Somebody Shouted McIntire

“Interesting piece of junk mail addressed to you,” texted Lisa McIntire’s mother. The credit-card offer from Bank of America was addressed to “Lisa Is A Slut McIntire” at her San Francisco, Calif., home. The mailing said she’d earned a special offer, apparently through being a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. She “tweeted” a complaint on Twitter, and the bank and the “honor” society tweeted their apologies. McIntire said Golden Key later called and explained that someone had stuck “Is A Slut” into her data there sometime last decade. McIntire said. Steven Sheck, who owns a consumer-data business, says obscenities sometimes get into mailing addresses; he blames customer service representatives angered during customer calls.
