Sticker Shock

Things went downhill quickly after a man ordered three Beefy Crunch Burritos at a Taco Bell in San Antonio, Texas. The customer shot at the manager with a BB gun and left without paying, and brandished an assault rifle and pistol in the parking lot. Police swarmed his car, but the man came out shooting; they shot back, but neither the suspect nor cops were hit. A chase ensued, and officers called in a SWAT team when they cornered the suspect in a hotel room. After a three-plus-hour standoff, they used tear gas to flush out Ricardo Jones, 37, who was taken into custody. What was all the fuss about? Jones was upset because the burritos’ price had gone up: he wanted them at the 99-cent promo price, but the promotion is over and they now cost $1.49 each. (JW/San Antonio News-Express) ...Why bother with tear gas? They could have just tossed in another burrito.
