Stop Screwing With That

Darryl Alexander, 56, of Southfield, Mich., sued Del Monte Corp. and Kroger, claiming the lid on a glass jar of Orchard Select Premium Mixed Fruit popped off, flew in the air, and knocked him out, causing injuries to his head and face, permanent eye injuries, and “pain, psychological harm, humiliation, anxiety, [and] anguish” after he whacked on the lid with a screwdriver. He alleges the jar was defective and claims Kroger violated its “statutory duty” by selling “mixed fruit that is injurious to health.” The defendants offered Alexander $150,000 to settle, but he refused that as “not enough.” (MS/Detroit News) ...Hope he still has the screwdriver, since he seems to have a screw loose.
