In North Dakota it is considered a misdemeanor sex crime for a man and woman to live together “openly and notoriously” as if they were married. State Sen. Tracy Potter has introduced legislation to strike down the law. If the state enforced the law, it’d need a “$10 billion prison,” he said. A law the majority of the public ignores is “saying that we have optional laws,” he said, and “we shouldn’t have laws like that.” (RC/Fargo Forum) ...Upon the bill’s introduction, Potter was applauded by his constituents — and slapped by his wife.
