That’s Not Exactly Where You Expect the Blood to Come From

A 10-year-girl in Hayward, Calif., woke up in the middle of the night, bleeding and in pain. Her parents said she was probably just having her first period, and their family doctor agreed, so they cleaned her up and sent her back to bed. By morning she was still in pain, and still bleeding, and only then did her parents notice that her bed had bullet holes in it. They did a “full body inspection” of the girl and found a bullet wound on her buttocks — there had been a drive-by shooting overnight, and the house was hit multiple times. They called 911, and sure enough, a bullet “was lodged in the pelvic area,” police say. (RC/San Francisco Chronicle) ...Coincidences are more rare than people think.
