Too Bad it Wasn’t Hooters

A patron at a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., reached into his pocket to get his parking valet ticket, and managed to pull the trigger on his legally carried pistol. The one shot ricocheted so much that at least six patrons were hit, but only one needed hospital treatment. The accidental shooter was not named, but was revealed to be an off-duty Miami-Dade corrections officer. “This was an accident that could have happened anywhere,” said the restaurant’s owner, Meghan Leckey. And just what is the name of her restaurant? Shooters. “It’s an iconic name,” Leckey said. “We want to inject life back to the brand.” (RC/South Florida Sun-Sentinel) ...Then give standing discounts to cops and, especially, jailers, and hope for the best.
