Tossing the Law

Citing the difficulty of finding work in today’s economy, Florida state Rep. Ritch Workman wants to repeal the state’s ban on dwarf tossing. “I’m on a quest to seek and destroy unnecessary burdens on the freedom and liberties of people,” he said. Dwarf tossing is “repulsive and stupid,” but “none of the state’s business” if the dwarf wants to do it. Anti-tossing activists object. “The possibility of getting paralyzed is high,” claims David Dodge, 43, the Little People of America state district director. “And then to be used as an object for people’s amusement is very degrading.” (AC/Palm Beach Post) ...Is that more or less degrading than not being allowed to choose your own profession?
