Turning Water into Whine

Robert D. Bourque, 55, of Sarnia, Ont., Canada, testified that he was not driving drunk. No, he says, the reason that a Breathalyzer showed that his blood alcohol level was 25 percent above the legal driving limit was because he was “trying to prove Jesus right.” Um, how’s that? Bourque says he poured alcohol into his ears to test his theory of how Jesus healed the deaf, and that’s what triggered a false Breathalyzer reading, rather than the “three beers” he had shortly before being stopped. Justice R.G. Hunter convicted Bourque of drunk driving, fined him C$1,000 (US$955), and banned him from driving for a year. (RC/Sarnia Observer) ...After that excuse, how about banning him from drinking for a year?
