Video Evidence II

Security cameras in the halls of Riverdale Elementary School in Mount Blanchard, Ohio, finally caught a bully in the act. The victim: a kindergartner, whom the much larger bully confronts in the hall, grabbing the 6-year-old’s face, shoving him against the wall, and lifting him off the floor by his shirt, all the while screaming at the boy for going to the restroom. Taunts included “I am sick of you!”, “I am sick of your parents!” and “I will rip you apart!” The bully was turned in by school staff who witnessed the assault, and their charges were confirmed when Principal Julie Spade pulled up the video evidence. The bully admitted to Spade that “I was furious. I was very hard on him,” according to her report. “I was very heated” and “over the top.” With that, Barb Williams was suspended for the final 10 days of the school year. Ian Nelson’s parents are outraged that the bully wasn’t fired: Williams is his teacher. “If I went to the school and if I were to do to her what she did to him,” Anthony Nelson said, “I’m going to be in jail.” Both the family and the teacher have hired lawyers.
