We Deliver

Firefighters in Portage, Mich., had taken their truck across the street from their station to get fuel. As they were filling their tank, two men in a van were driving down the road with a can of gasoline inside the passenger compartment. One of the men needed a smoke, so he lit a cigarette. The van “went boom,” said Fire Chief Randolph Lawton. The men jumped from the flaming — and still rolling — van, which then headed into the fire station’s parking lot. The firefighters quickly headed back to their station to extinguish the van, and the fence that it had crashed into. Lawton said the story of what happened should be a “reminder” for people to be “vigilant” when transporting gasoline. (RC/Kalamazoo Gazette) ...Whereas others say the story shows that some people are too stupid to breathe without a reminder.
