AOL Inc., formerly known as America Online, is trying to beef up its business by buying content companies, and hiring writers to create original material. “The one thing that doesn’t change is people’s consumption of content,” explains AOL CEO Tim Armstrong. Still, more than 40 percent of the company’s revenue comes from selling dial-up Internet access. “Paid services is an interesting part of our business and our future,” Armstrong said.
