Welfare, Checked

As sheriff deputies were heading to Sheila Lederer’s home in Wellington, Fla., to do a welfare check on her, she called 911 saying someone was hiding in her bushes. When deputies arrived, they found Lederer screaming at a tree. The deputy explained that “the tree was unable to talk and that the tree was not a person.” She then told the deputy to arrest her mailbox. Before taking her in for a mental evaluation, Lederer told the deputy she had taken drugs and that no one else was in the house. But the deputy noticed some toys and went inside, where he found two children, 15 and 1, in bed. One of the children said that Lederer had been calling her the wrong name all week. The children were removed from the home, and Lederer was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation. (MS/Palm Beach Post) ...Some speak for the trees, and some speak to the trees.
