What Could Go Wrong?

When Irish expatriate Andrew Short, 38, of Flemington, Vic., Australia, came home from a pub, he decided it was the right time to move his beehive onto the roof of his house. So, he donned his bee suit and went to work — at midnight. He noticed some bees on his veil, “And then I realized, he’s not on the outside, he’s on the inside.” Startled, Short bumped the hive and all 8,000 bees swarmed, with about 60 invading his suit. “I was up the ladder holding the hive, so the job wasn’t done yet,” he said, but once they started stinging him he thought it was best to get back on the ground. An ambulance took him to the hospital with about 60 stings to his upper body. “A few beers maybe and a ladder,” Short summarized: “It’s a bad combination.” (MS/Australian AP) ...Usually, those are the victim’s last words.
