What’s In a Name?

The Hallandale Beach, Fla., police department has its officers log their contacts with the public on community contact cards. Because productivity has been low, Officer Thomas D’Orazio’s supervisor was thrilled to see three such cards attached to his daily activity report. Until he looked at them, that is. D’Orazio, 30, had allegedly filled them in with obviously fake, sometimes explicit names and put phrases such as “stinky poo poo garbage” on them. D’Orazio was given a 10-day unpaid suspension, and if there are any similar incidents in the next two years, the department warned, he will be required to resign immediately. “He regrets what he did and he realizes it is very serious,” said union representative Jeff Marano. “At the end of the day, police work is a very dangerous business. To make a mockery of it over a period of time is just not conducive to good police work.” (MS/South Florida Sun-Sentinel) ...No, really! The citizen’s name really is Al Coholic.
