Worth Two in the Bush

A man pulled into a drunk driving checkpoint in Mexico City, Mexico. Police officers heard a voice in the back: “¡Está borracho! ¡Está borracho!” — “He’s drunk! He’s drunk!” When an officer looked into the back to see who said it, he instead found what said it: a parrot. And the bird was correct: driver Guillermo Reyes failed sobriety tests, was arrested, and taken to the city’s drunk tank to sober up. Unsure what police would do with his bird, Reyes asked that it accompany him, and officers obliged: it stayed with him during his night in jail. (RC/Time) ...Animal welfare, or sweet revenge? You be the judge.
