Xenophagia

The lionfish comes from the Indo-Pacific Ocean. Its mane is made of poisonous spines. Ten years ago, it came to America — to the Gulf and the East Coast — and some scientists think this fishy immigrant and other “invasive species” should’ve stayed where they came from. One proposal for getting rid of such invaders: eat them. The lionfish, it turns out, is buttery, and can take the job of a lobster. But establishing invasive species as delicacies might undermine the mission of eliminating them. Nature Conservancy Texas director Laura Huffman warns: “Eating invasive species is not a silver bullet.” (AC/AP) ...Try them with garlic.
