Yeah, Like That

Taiwan’s Intellectual Property Office held a contest to educate the public about copyright. A man identified only as Wu won the T$50,000 prize (US$1,600) for his poster, which has been circulated widely. But someone in Taipei noticed the poster at a train station, and alerted officials that it’s a ripoff — taken from an image by Dutch artist Dennis Sibeijn. Wu, who admitted the plagiarism, was ordered to return the prize money. Sibeijn’s artwork is titled “Truth”. (RC/AFP) ...Taiwan’s next competition: illustrate “Irony”.
