Yes, Your Honor

Texas State District Judge Sharen Wilson tells most defendants in front of her to “get a job.” When Megan Marsteller, 32, didn’t show up for her four-day jail sentence in a drug case, Judge Wilson issued a warrant for her arrest. A probation officer tracked Marsteller down and discovered she had taken the judge’s advice. “She was living with her mother out of state in Pennsylvania,” said Jim Sinclair, assistant director of Tarrant County’s probation department. “She had started a new job — at the county probation department.” (RC/Ft.
