You Bet Your...

John and Nicole Grant, a truck-driving couple who support rival football teams, went into Chris Neu’s Mayville, Wisc., bar to watch the teams play each other. As they watched, Neu said, they talked about their bet: the winner would get to zap the other with John’s stun gun. John’s Chicago Bears beat Nicole’s Green Bay Packers and, Neu said, half his customers followed the couple outside. “She put her hands up on the wall and he Tasered her butt twice.” Neu said she was laughing and wanted the shocking recorded on video. But the couple then fought, and Nicole, 32, called the police and tried to get John, 42, charged with domestic battery. He avoided that charge after she showed authorities her cell phone video. It didn’t save him completely, though: possession of a stun gun is illegal in Wisconsin, and he was charged with felony possession. (AC/Tinley Park Southtown Star) ...Was it domestic battery? Let’s go to the videotape!
Story Update: In an apparent plea bargain, John Grant avoided a felony rap by pleading no contest to disorderly conduct. He was given a $250 fine, and ordered to pay court costs.
