You Can Stop at “Totally Unaware”

It was around 2:15 a.m., and Dunwoody, Ga., police officer Alvin Rodriguez was on patrol when another car smashed into him, and then drove off. Naturally, Rodriguez, who was not injured, pursued the offending car, and when it pulled over he asked the driver for his license. Damon Tobias Exum, 37, apparently needed Rodriguez to hold something for him so he could pull out his wallet: his beer. Sure enough, a police spokesman says, Exum was “heavily intoxicated” and “totally unaware that he had collided with the officer’s patrol car.” He was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI (third offense) and reckless driving. (RC/Atlanta Journal-Constitution) ...Usually, “hold my beer and watch this” happens long before police involvement.
