You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch

As a group of singers at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., sang “Let it Snow” to shoppers, Serge Vorobyov, 29, made it “snow” by throwing 1,000 $1 bills into the crowd from an upper floor, and from an escalator as he rode down. Vorobyov “wanted to do some sort of pay it forward kind of thing,” he claimed, but mall officials weren’t impressed: the “disruption” could have caused a “serious situation” such as a stampede; Vorobyov was cited by police for disorderly conduct. Officers noted that it was a publicity stunt: Vorobyov had included the URL to his own Youtube channel on each bill to increase his video views. “I don’t see how holiday cheer is disorderly conduct,” he grumped. (RC/Minneapolis Star-Tribune, AP) ...Yeah, well, in America, mister, we don’t appreciate people trying to commercialize Christmas!
