“He stole my mom’s jewelry and laptop, and my money,” Albuquerque, N.M., homeowner Zack Bridges explained. “He pulled a knife on me, and he just started running off.” Bridges ran after the man who broke into his home for about a mile until they ended up on a side street. Then Bridges picked up a large pumpkin from a nearby back yard and threw it at the man’s head — and hit him. “He fell down into the pumpkin and he was spitting up pumpkin.” Bridges said he held the suspect, Joseph Ortega, on the ground until police arrived and charged Ortega with burglary, aggravated assault, and drug possession. Bridges said he hopes his form of vigilante justice is enough to make burglars stay away. (JW/KOAT Albuquerque) ...Make that vegilante justice.
