Ask Me Anything 001 …An Introduction

My concept seems to be good: I’m getting lots of questions. So let’s begin!

Randy Cassingham, smiling with glasses and a goatee, next to large blue text reading Ask me Anything. Below, smaller text says A Little Video Series from This is True, and Full Disclaimer: Answers Optional. It’s for ThisIsTrue.com readers who are curious about whatever. Max 1 video a week, and call this one last week’s installment.

Questions in this Episode:

  • 0:11 Me: What to expect from the videos.
  • 1:20 Me: Who can ask questions?
  • 2:04 Bill in Colorado: Will you answer all questions?

Normally, videos will be a little longer than this: I figure in the 5-10 minutes range. So let’s get started.

Since Youtube Comments are typically a vast, brain-free wasteland of obliviocy, I’m putting the videos on my site where there can be intelligent discussion. The comments are NOT a place to ask questions.

Q: Why would I want to pay more than the minimum rate?

A: To support the publication to help it thrive and stay online: this kind of support means less future need for price increases (and smaller increases when they do happen), which enables more people to upgrade. This option was requested by existing Premium subscribers.

  1. Personally, I like long hair on a man.

And I like your closing logo.

It’ll be getting longer. As for the bumper: I had that made in 2018, and am finally putting it to use! -rc

  2. Cool video.

Didn’t hear any background noise, save for the chimes (which I thought added to the mystique of the environment). Audio quality is better than 80 or 90% of the stuff I regularly listen to via podcasts. And I’m looking forward to hearing more. (I hope you’ll publish an RSS link so I can listen via my podcast app… but I’ll listen either way so no worries there).

I was listening with headphones for production, and caught some noise. Still, a good mic makes all the difference. There’s constant background noise here. I’m alone in the business center right now, and I can hear the engines, for instance.

I slipped in some elevator music to cover the short announcement. First, I had to quick compose some elevator music….

https://thisistrue.com/category/video/feed/ is the RSS feed for the Video category, but only you know whether your podcast app will be able to 1) find the video on each page, and 2) play it for you as audio. -rc

  3. Caught the first notification of reality by way of RSS, having been informed by the newsletter! Great start, my ears are not me best feature so I heard only you. Thanks.

  4. Innovative concept and should be quite entertaining. I’ve always enjoyed your unique observations on a wide range of topics. I’m now facing the challenge of what to ask you. 🙂

The link for where to ask is in the last two Premium newsletters, and will be in the next one also. That page has some samples of actual questions asked to spur ideas. -rc
