Parents of students at Encinal High School in Alameda, Calif., are demanding that a teacher be fired after offering an extra-credit assignment. “It was to go into your parents’ private drawers or whatever to seek out sexual toys or condoms, or anything of that nature and to take a selfie with it,” says mother Kimberly Cobene. School officials tried to pass the assignment off as a joke, but “If the kids took it as a joke, then why did one kid take it serious and actually did the extra credit work, and was shown as an example in class?” asks another mother, Evangeline Garcia. Once the story got into the news, district officials suspended the teacher, Wing-Wah Leung, who teaches math. (RC/KPIX San Francisco) ...He claims it was a valid part of his algebrassiere class.
