All in a Day’s Work
Firefighters in New Hyde Park, N.Y., didn’t have to respond to a vehicle crash: it came to them. The car smashed through their bay door and hit two fire trucks. When the on-duty crew opened the car’s door to check on the driver, they found she was semi-conscious — and had a live ball python around her neck. Driver Sarah Espinosa, 22, allegedly admitted that she had stolen the snake; it was returned to the pet store that owned it. Espinosa, meanwhile, was taken to the hospital, but was allegedly more drunk than injured; she was released to police, who charged her with theft and drunk driving. (RC/New York Newsday) ...And the unlawful remodeling of a public building.Original Publication Date: 17 August 2014
