This video series is a classic Ask Me Anything, with 1-2 (OK, or 5, if short) questions answered each week. It’s for ThisIsTrue.com readers who are curious about whatever. Questions are accepted (only) from Premium subscribers. My wife and I live on a Residential Cruising ship, and I record from my office there.
Questions in this Episode:
- 0:35 Steven in Israel: Can you continue describing your travels?
- 1:38 Did you see any Kodiak bears?
- 2:50 Can you continue your EMS stories?
- 3:30 Adam from Canada: Do you have problems from being remarkably tall?
- 5:18 Jolanda in Canada: Are there any pets on board your ship?
Since Youtube Comments are typically a vast, brain-free wasteland of obliviocy, I’m putting the videos on my site where there can be intelligent discussion. The comments are NOT a place to ask questions.

This page is an example of my style of “Thought-Provoking Entertainment”. This is True is an email newsletter that uses “weird news” as a vehicle to explore the human condition in an entertaining way. If that sounds good, click here to open a subscribe form.
To really support This is True, you’re invited to sign up for a subscription to the much-expanded “Premium” edition:
Q: Why would I want to pay more than the minimum rate?
A: To support the publication to help it thrive and stay online: this kind of support means less future need for price increases (and smaller increases when they do happen), which enables more people to upgrade. This option was requested by existing Premium subscribers.
What is this crap, Randy? Bait and switch, promise a story and give us ads instead? Doesn’t sound like your style.

I have no idea what “crap” you refer to. Yes, Youtube has ads. I have zero control over what ads they show, or when. If you can’t handle that generations-old standard TV revenue model, the solution is simple, and a choice: either don’t watch the shows, or pay Youtube to not show you their ads. Complaining to me about a third party is not an option. -rc
I’m a bit surprised you did not see bears much out in Ouray. We saw them all the time in Boulder. We had to reroute our evening walk (in Table Mesa) many times because a bear was prowling around looking for a free meal (even after things got harder with the bear-proof trash cans).

Oh, plenty of bears around, but they were pretty shy and I rarely saw them. We even had one in our garage at one point. -rc
