Ask Me Anything 006 …Finding the Honorary Unsubscribe

Trying to go shorter this week.

Randy Cassingham, smiling with glasses and a goatee, next to large blue text reading Ask me Anything. Below, smaller text says A Little Video Series from This is True, and Full Disclaimer: Answers Optional. This video series is a classic Ask Me Anything, with 1-2 questions answered each week. It’s for ThisIsTrue.com readers who are curious about whatever. Questions are accepted (only) from Premium subscribers. My wife and I live on a Residential Cruising ship, and I record from my office there …where it can sometimes be noisy!

Questions in this Episode:

  • 0:38 Susanne in Massachusetts: Can you walk through how you find an Honorary Unsubscribe?
  • 8:01 Bruce in Florida: Do you or Kit have children?

The Honorary Unsubscribe I was using as an example: Balfour Mount (and what a great name!)

Since Youtube Comments are typically a vast, brain-free wasteland of obliviocy, I’m putting the videos on my site where there can be intelligent discussion. The comments are NOT a place to ask questions.

Bad link? Broken image? Other problem on this page? Let Me Know, and thanks.

This page is an example of Randy Cassingham’s style of “Thought-Provoking Entertainment”. His This is True is an email newsletter that uses “weird news” as a vehicle to explore the human condition in an entertaining way. If that sounds good, click here to open a subscribe form.

To really support This is True, you’re invited to sign up for a subscription to the much-expanded Premium edition.

    • My favorite part of the AMAs is seeing you think out your answers. You don’t script the replies and read off a page. That’s a lovely and rare person that lets you see them *think*. I initially did not read the HUs (because “I don’t read obituaries”), but once I started to read them I went back to your site and read every single previous one. Now I just have the problem of having already read the “one year ago” type snippets. I cannot believe how much I continue to enjoy your insights!

Huh: insightful. Yeah, you can tell I didn’t write anything down, practice, or really even think much about my answers beforehand! 😆

Worse, I tend to do them pretty late in the evening, when most folks have left the business center (since I don’t want to bother others talking in full voice in a work area), so I’m usually pretty tired. With virtually no editing, you see the false starts and pondering, just like in real life. Thanks for the illumination. -rc
