Bully for Him

Ron Rivera, 55, a former New Jersey State Police officer, was hired four months ago as the director of security for the Vernon Township School District, with a $70,000 salary. But Rivera, who is also the district’s “anti-bullying coordinator,” has already been fired: he not only “allegedly used physical force” on a 16-year-old female student, but a boy who witnessed the altercation says Rivera “threatened me not to say anything to anyone.” The boy trusted the principal, however, and told her, and she triggered the investigation. Robert Walsh, a middle school teacher who is a member of the Board of Education, lamented that the situation is “a black eye for our district.” (RC/New Jersey Herald) ...That is unusual: most bullies don’t like to leave marks.
