Chrismakah

When participants in a holiday ceremony mentioned the “bright light” of two millennia ago, Springfield, Mass., City Councilor Bud Williams thought he’d take up the theme. “Jesus is the reason for the season,” he said. Wrong theme. The ceremony was a menorah lighting — a celebration of Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights — not Christmas. “To me, Jesus is the messiah,” Williams later explained. “I thought I was being very positive.” After all, “Jesus was Jewish.” (AC/Springfield Republican) ...Jesus: bright light to Christians. Menorah: bright light to Jews. Bud Williams: not so bright.
