Duke of Hazards

Okaloosa County, Fla., sheriff’s deputies tried to pull over a car, but the driver led them on a chase. He brought his Ford Focus up to 80 mph but couldn’t shake the patrol cars, so the next thing he tried was to steer into a hay field. He went airborne a couple of times due to his speed, and the car finally died. That wasn’t the end, though: the driver, holding a “large” can of beer, jumped out and ran — but was quickly caught because he ran “head first” into a tree. James Jenkins, 33, deputies found, was already on probation for felony fleeing and eluding — and multiple counts of driving with a suspended license. He was arrested on multiple charges, including child neglect: a young boy in the back seat told officers he “had been holding on to his car seat with all his might” during the chase. (RC/Crestview News Bulletin) ...And cheered when Jenkins hit the tree.
