Escalation

Repeated instances of school teachers found drunk in their classrooms? Officially passé: a teacher’s aide was found passed out in a girl’s restroom at Ford Elementary School in Denver, Colo. Cassandra Rein, 27, was found by first-graders, who called in adults to aid her. They, in turn, called police, because Rein had “a syringe hanging out of her arm, and a piece of metal foil, with an empty clear bag containing a small amount of unknown white powder by her side,” the resulting police report says. In addition, “Several bottles of various pills” and more syringes were found in her purse. When a teacher asked her about the syringe, Rein “stated her roommate was diabetic and did not know why it was there.” Rein was arrested on drug charges. (RC/Denver Post, KCNC Denver) ...Because she’s only practiced enough at lying to fool first-graders.
