Factual Scientific Debate

In a debate to decide whether edible marijuana should be legalized for medical use in Utah, an agent from the federal Drug Enforcement Administration testified before the state Senate panel considering the bill. “I deal in facts. I deal in science,” testified DEA Special Agent Matt Fairbanks. He said that when raiding grow operations, he has observed that animals in the state have “cultivated a taste for the marijuana” — especially rabbits. And that’s why the panel should kill the bill. Unimpressed with the agent’s bunny fears, the senators passed the bill, moving it another step toward becoming law. (RC/Washington Post) ...Now I’m left wondering: did the senators see through the BS and pass the bill, or did they pass the bill to defy “scientific” reasoning?
