“This seizure further illustrates the vigilance of CBP officers in interdicting contraband entering the country,” said Cincinnati Port Director Richard L. Gillespie. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers doing screenings of packages at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Ky., showed “anomalies” — and a drug dog barked at the package. The box, shipped from Mexico, contained a plastic figurine of Jesus. They drilled into the statue and uncovered 26 pounds of marijuana, which they say has a street value of more than $20,000.
