Fixer Upper
An unnamed Walker County, Ala., woman was on a date with Jesse Elliot, 22. A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy pulled the couple over on the highway, and Elliot told the deputy he didn’t have his license with him, and allegedly gave a false name and date of birth. When the officer returned to his car to verify the information, Elliot allegedly shoved the woman from the car and took off. The deputy pursued him into Walker County, but broke off the chase when it caused danger to other motorists. The woman wasn’t injured. “She told deputies that she had just met the suspect and, in fact had been on a blind date with him when they were stopped,” said Chief Deputy Randy Christian. “She was given a ride to her home.” Elliot is wanted on outstanding misdemeanor warrants, and faces additional charges of driving with a suspended license, and attempting to elude. “I think these two are off to a bad start,” Christian said. “And whoever fixed her up has some explaining to do.” (MS/Birmingham News) ...Her next blind date will start with a background check.Original Publication Date: 11 December 2016
