A rifle. That’s what someone had in his car in a Farmingdale State College parking lot, a caller told 911. Administrators at the Long Island college, showing the common sense usually associated with school officials, issued an alert: “Shelter in place.” When Suffolk County, N.Y., cops found the man, they did not arrest him or charge him with anything: evidently, no one has gotten around to prohibiting lightsabers yet, and such a “Star Wars” toy was what the “rifleman” actually had.
