Hang On

Kana Querta, 25, got into a car accident in Mesa, Ariz., then allegedly fled the scene in her car. Police gave pursuit, and observed her car speeding, making unsafe lane changes, and not obeying traffic control devices. A witness also said he saw an unrestrained child in the front seat. That witness was the driver of the other car, who was hanging on to Querta’s hood when she drove away from the scene. When officers caught Querta, they said she had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and a strong odor of alcohol. They also found her 4-year-old son in the front seat without a seat belt. Querta told officers she was aware of the other driver on her car, claiming “he jumped on the car.” She was arrested and charged with child endangerment, aggravated DUI, and failure to stop at a collision. (MS/Arizona Republic) ...A series of unfortunate events is often caused by a series of bad decisions.
