Ignorance Goeth Before a Fall

Michael Keen, 58, of Silverdale, Wash., was in jail on vehicular homicide charges when he had a sudden realization. He called his son and another man from the jail’s phone, and allegedly asked them to retrieve guns from his car’s trunk. “You guys got nothing to worry about,” Keen allegedly said to his son. “But I do, just say it’s yours and it’s no big deal because it’s not registered, that’s all.” Since jailhouse phones are monitored — a fact inmates are informed of each time they use the phones — police were notified and searched Keen’s trunk before anyone else could get there; they found an AR-15 and AK-47, magazines, and ammunition. Keen is a convicted felon, and therefore prohibited from possessing firearms, so another criminal charge was added to his file: unlawful possession of firearms. (MS/Kitsap Sun) ...He’s going to need to make another phone call.
