Let’s Call Him Wolf

“I have always been on the side of the law,” Christopher Hauptmann told a judge. Maybe: Hauptmann, 43, a bail bondsman in Coal Township, Pa., was in court to answer charges that he used a fake name to buy handguns, and to get a permit for them. Police say his real name is Buckley, and under that name he is a convicted felon, and thus it’s a felony for him to possess firearms. That’s not the only charge, though: it seems Hauptmann married his wife’s daughter shortly after she turned 18 — without dissolving his prior marriage, the girl’s mother says — so he’s charged with bigamy, too. Hauptmann pleaded for the judge to release him, since he has “hundreds of clients out on bail” who would “run buck wild” if he wasn’t available to supervise them. The judge set his bail at $300,000 — cash-only — which Hauptmann can’t afford, so he’s still in jail. (RC/Sunbury Daily Item) ...He’s no “Dog the Bounty Hunter” but he does have the dog part down.
