Make a Run for the Border
“The mother was hitting her child in the face,” Cpl. Dean Bishop said, describing an incident in Milton, W.Va., that police were called to. When they arrived, they saw Loretta Armstrong, 48, allegedly beating her youngest son. They tried to take her into custody, but she broke free. “All in all, from the moment we arrested her, to the time we finished the arrest, was about three hours,” Bishop said. “During those three hours, she didn’t settle down the whole time.” Armstrong was charged with felony child abuse and three misdemeanors. The reason for beating her son: the child had ordered the wrong toppings on her burrito. “There’s a difference between spanking your kid and punching your child in the face,” Bishop said. “There’s no sense in ever getting into an argument like that over a burrito — just let it go.” But Armstrong’s oldest son defended his mother, saying she is “a churchgoing woman who wouldn’t hurt a fly.” (MS/WCHS Charleston) ...Unless that fly was on her burrito.Original Publication Date: 05 June 2016
