Minty Fresh
Carter Loar, 17, a senior at Park View High School in Sterling, Va., wanted a date. Before he asked, he pulled a small bottle of mouthwash out of his pocket and swished some through his mouth. For his gallantry, he’s been suspended for 10 days and must attend a three-day substance abuse program — school rules prohibit any liquid containing alcohol on campus, and Loar’s brand is about 22 percent. (RC/AP) ...I know that brand. It’s great over ice with a twist.Author’s Note: Although this story didn’t use the term “zero tolerance,” this is the first True story where the concept was clearly in play.
