The Duval County (Fla.) School Board has suspended Courtney Spruill, a PE and Health teacher at Kerman Middle School in Jacksonville, without pay after a party for the school’s soccer team. A student reported to the softball coach that at the party, held at a parent’s house, Spruill not only consumed alcohol, but then “twerked” for students, and performed a lap dance for one of the students. The latter was recorded on video by a student with a cell phone. The school district said Spruill showed “the gross exercise of poor judgment.” (RC/WTEV Jacksonville) ...Right: any competent teacher knows to confiscate cell phones before doing something really stupid.Original Publication Date: 03 August 2014
