Outsmarted

A homeowner was called by the Miami-Dade, Fla., Police to tell him his home had been burgled. Neighbors saw two men go inside — and one came out. Officers found a broken window but decided not to bother to go in. When the homeowner, who asked not to be identified, arrived home, he went in to find “a complete mess.” And, he says, he heard a noise as the second burglar fled the scene. Police came and took a second report, but didn’t come a third time when the homeowner called to say he found one of the burglars had left behind his cell phone and his pants — complete with a wallet. Only when the TV news station reported on the case did police come and retrieve the solid clues in the case. (RC/WPLG Miami) ...Taking a “Too bad for you” report: easy. Actually having to track down leads: time consuming.
