Pet the Kitty
The Columbus (Ohio) Zoo and Aquarium is pressing charges against Joshua Newell, 35, after video surfaced of a man alleged to be Newell. In the video, the man could be seen holding the camera while jumping a wooden fence at the zoo’s cougar exhibit, then approaching the wire fence calling “Here, kitty kitty” and petting two cougars in the enclosure. “Animal welfare and safety are two of our top priorities,” said Tom Stalf, president and CEO of the zoo. “The actions taken in this video were alarming and resulted in our decision to press charges” — criminal trespassing.
