Time to Go

A man got off a Washington D.C. Metro train at Fort Totten. It was the end of his shift: he was the train’s motorman, and he wasn’t going to drive anymore now that his shift was over. For several minutes, the train, lacking anyone to move it, sat at the platform, preventing other trains from pulling in to the northern transfer point to pick up passengers. Eventually a supervisor who happened to be in the station moved it. A Metro spokesman said, “Appropriate action will be taken with regard to the operator.” (AC/WRC Washington) ...Just as soon as Human Resources comes back on shift.
