To Protect and Serve II

Shannon Kepler, 54, is a police officer in Tulsa, Okla.; his wife, Gina, 48, is also a Tulsa police officer. They were hired on the same day, 24 years ago. Shannon apparently disapproved of his 18-year-old daughter’s choice of boyfriends. Their daughter, Lisa, says she and her boyfriend, Jeremy Lake, 19, were in front of her boyfriend’s house when her father drove up. When her boyfriend stepped forward to introduce himself to him, Lisa says, her father pulled a gun and shot him several times. Lisa says she dove for cover when he turned the gun on her. Shannon also allegedly shot at Lake’s 13-year-old brother, grazing his arm, and then drove away. Shannon turned himself in and has been charged with first-degree murder and shooting with intent to kill; Gina was charged as an accessory to murder for allegedly hiding him from detectives. Lisa says she had just moved in with Lake because her father threw her out of the house — for making “poor life decisions.” (RC/Tulsa World) ...She’s young and inexperienced. What’s his excuse?
