Uniform Code of Justice

Timothy Ortiz, 24, was fired from his job at a Palencia, Fla., Burger King. According to witnesses, Ortiz walked out of the restaurant, set his uniform hat and shirt on fire, left them on the ground and walked away. Witnesses saw what Ortiz had done and called the police, but he was gone by the time they arrived. When police arrived at his home, the police report says he yelled and cursed at a deputy, grew more aggressive and refused to be handcuffed. So, the deputy fired his stun gun at Ortiz as he allegedly started running away, but the probes did not stick. When the deputy reloaded his stun gun, Ortiz decided to return and submit to arrest. (MS/St. Augustine Record) ...The one smart thing he did all day.
