What’s that Speck in Your Eye?
A driver in Roselle, Ill., noticed something unusual about another car on the road and called police. Officers responded and pulled over Maryann Christy, 54, who allegedly smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests; she was cited for driving under the influence. What was so unusual about the car? “Stopped for driving with a large tree embedded in the front grille,” the police report noted. The tree was an estimated 15 feet tall. “We didn’t stand there and measure it, but it was a big tree,” Deputy Chief Roman Tarchala said. Christy told officers she had struck the tree somewhere near home, about 4 miles away from where she was stopped. She lives in Schaumburg — on Spruce Court.
