Where Is Soupy Sales When You Need Him?

The results of the 22nd World Pie Eating Championships were declared null and void after a delivery error in Wigan, in Greater Manchester, England. The problem: there were two large orders for meat and potato pies from the supplier, Harry’s Bar. The “official competition pie” is specified to have a diameter of 12cm and a depth of 3.5cm, with the meat and potato pieces a minimum of 1cm cubes, with 66 percent meat content, not including pastry. Those pies went to the wrong place, and the Championship got the other order, with pies about twice as large. “The work experience lad was tasked with providing 24 competition pies, but mixed up the order and sent them to a divorce party up the road,” said Tony Callaghan, owner of Harry’s Bar. “By the time we realized, it was too late.” (RC/Manchester Evening News) ...So the divorce party got half the pie they ordered? Just like the couple in question.
