Wrong-Way Corrigan
A migrant worker in Rizhao, Shandong province, China, on a job 1,700 km (1,050 miles) from his home in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang province, wanted to go home for Chinese New Year. The unnamed man was very low on funds so he set out on his bicycle for the long journey. It wasn’t until 30 days later that police stopped him at a toll station in the province of Anhui — 500 km (310 miles) in the wrong direction. The man couldn’t read maps and was relying on others for directions. When police discovered his mistake, they worked with employees at the toll station to collect enough money to buy him a train ticket home. (MS/BBC) ...This is why men never ask for directions.Original Publication Date: 12 February 2017
